Well I have officially decided that Tuesdays suck….it seems that we never get good news on Tuesdays.
1. Rudy’s white blood cells are down more
2. Rudy’s platelets are now down as well
3. Rudy’s blood pressure is up
4. Still a lot of abnormally large nodes in his neck area
Next Steps:
1. Rudy goes into oncologist tomorrow for a shot that will hopefully bring white blood cells up a bit
2. Rudy goes to get another CT Scan tomorrow to check for kidney stones/anything wrong with kidneys
3. We have been referred to infectious disease doctor – waiting on dr to confirm when we go see him.
4. We have a follow up appointment next Thursday with Dr. Suki (Oncologist)
Overall bad news as whatever is wrong has now affected his platelet count and is causing his white blood cell count to fall rapidly. His current count is 2,100 whereas the minimum normal range is 3,700.
Depending on what we find with CT Scan, etc. they are thinking of surgically biopsying one of the lymph nodes.
The funny thing is that with all this information that part that Rudy hates the most is the fact he can't cycle outside and he can't drink beer! He makes me laugh....one of the many reasons that I married him.
We are going to Rockport on Thursday and I'm hoping that allows him to relax a bit and de-stress as it seems there is no end in sight (for now) when it comes to doctor appts.
