Limbo

Well its been interesting since we were released from the hospital.  So we had about 3.5 days home before the fevers started again. Then it started....100.0...99.1....102.0...trying to control his fever was almost impossible. I felt like I had a newborn again as I got up every 4 hours to give him another dose of Tylenol.

While I know its not her fault it was definitely Murphy's Law because the fevers didn't start until my mom literally left the house to go back to corpus. Thank goodness she decided to turn around (and was only 1 hour outside of Houston).

I cant say enough how much we have appreciated all the time and sacrifice that both my mom and Rudy's parents have done to come and stay with us. Not just because my house is cleaner than its ever been (j/k - but seriously it is) but because they have helped to lessen some of the burden by helping take care of Diego, picking up and dropping off at school, taking Rudy to get blood work done, etc. This time of year is horrible for me work wise with performance ranking which means long hours and less sleep. This plus Rudy being sick has not been a great combination. I think I've been working on adrenaline for at least a month now.

Its weird because it seems like the dominant feeling I have is fear. Not that I am scared all the time but more like I'm either on autopilot to handle everything with Rudy's medical care, do my work, be strong for Diego or...I'm scared.

The infectious disease Dr has referred him now to a rheumatologist as his lupus panel came back borderline. we have an appointment scheduled for Monday and until we go he has put in a temporary IV and Rudy goes in each day for a dosage of intravenous antibiotics.

We are both hoping that with this appointment on Monday  that we will get some answers and a plan of action. right now it feels as though we are in limbo....not getting better....trying to stay stable....circling an answer...

Please pray that the doctors are given clarity to figure out what's wrong with Rudy so we can move forward with a plan...
