Well yesterday marked my first week back at work and Diego's first week at daycare. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Monday was difficult, I must have teared up at least three times before even dropping him off at the daycare. Rudy surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of Gerber daisies being delivered to my office - it definitely put a smile on my face.
It's definitely getting hectic around the office. My boss put in his resignation 2 weeks ago and Friday was his last day. From what we are hearing from the powers that be we won't be getting a new boss anytime soon. Luckily the other consultant, analysts and I work really well together and should be able to take care of ourselves. Besides that I found out on Monday that I have to make a quick trip up to NYC on the 24th of this month to present some work to one of our client's Board of Directors. There's nothing like jumping in with both feet!
Diego did very well at daycare - he is definitely liking the ladies there at the daycare. Every morning when I bring him there he just smiles at the one lady (Colleen) that takes care of him in the morning. He "made" his first art project this week - a mother's day card for me! Ok, so they did the majority of the work for him but the one thing that he did do is scrunch up the little pieces of tissue paper that they put on it. Needless to say I was very proud of my little Picasso :)
All in all I would say we had a very good 1st week back.
